When I was young, my mother (and The Rolling Stones) often told me "You can't always get what you want". Come to think of it, my mom (and Mick Jagger) still tells me that. A cornerstone of parenting philosophy, this concept applies equally to life decisions, demands for a second slice of cake or even the quality settings on your video feed. The new year is all about self-improvement and looking forward. As such, our developers caught the spirit and churned out a new release for both server and mobile SDK. They improved the performance of our autoscale solution and load balancing stream manager, added Flash to HLS audio support (so you can video call your parents more often this year), and updated the mobile example applications. Having already started down the path of self-improvement, it's time to continue looking forward to future improvements. What do you want to see added to Red5 Pro? Let us know! Release 2.1.0 -…

I know what you are thinking. We probably couldn't have picked a worse day (April Fools Day) to release. But we aren’t letting that stop us. While Google literally and figuratively dropped the mic today, we instead have actually improved the mic with echo cancellation for Android. Not only that, we've improved performance on both iOS and Android and fixed a ton of bugs. We also did a bit of dropping our selves. We dropped the CPU usage down on both iOS and Android by 85% which improves battery life and heat issues. While there aren’t a lot…
